Store Wars: The Battle for Dayton's Customers

Store wars, that’s right not star wars but store wars. Here in Dayton there are all of the big chains, Kroger, Meijer, Wal-Mart, Target, and Menard's. Dayton has a population of approximately 142,000 people. With this size population you wouldn’t expect there to be such fierce competition between these brands. Each one is trying to one-up the others to try to gain customers. Many are remodeling to keep a nice new look and convert to a one stop shop for all their customers needs.  Retail chains are no different than a Dayton storage company or moving companies. They all try to one-up their competition by lower prices, better services, or better customer service. It is the nature of business which in the end favors the customers the most. The customers in the end get better prices, better products, or better service. Every business out there from Dayton residential movers to Kroger’s, they all are constantly improving on their products/services to draw customers to them.

It's Time for Madness in Dayton!

Its March Madness time again! For those of you who don’t follow sports closely or just don’t know what March Madness and are curious because of all the hype.  It is a single-elimination college basketball tournament held every March. Recently, crews have spent hours being Dayton movers to set up jumbo trons for the First Four Festival and the game soon to come. March Madness is big enough as it is; but this year the First Four is even bigger! How you may wonder… President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron plan on attending one of these games in Dayton to share the American tradition of March Madness with the British Prime minister. You can expect heavier traffic during this time and expect another really bad spike at the end of the First Four as the commercial Dayton movers remove all the equipment they brought in and all of the fans leave town as well.

Arnold Sports Festiva -- Arnold Classic This weekend!

This weekend is the biggest festival dedicated to sports of every kind.  The festival takes place in Columbus OH from March 1-4th.  There you can expect to see people fencing, to bodybuilding, and even strongmen competitions. As a Dayton moving company we are astounded by the strongmen as they can lift incredible amounts of weights. Some time we wish they were our employee's being able to move a refrigerator by themselves with no problem would be useful on moves. The Arnold Classic though is a great time for anyone interested in sports and/or exercise. The expo is known for giving away TONS of free stuff, so much you'll feel like you might need some Dayton movers to help you get it all home.  This is a huge crowd pleaser.  Though you can expect to see a lot of commercial moving tucks though traffic this week as they set up for the festival.  Remember to drive safe and if you are looking for something to do, its a great way to spend a day.

University of Cincinnati Is Ranked!

Looking for a good college?  USnews.com reported that University of Cincinnati was ranked # 143 in the nation!  This may not sound all that impressive at first glance but, when you consider how many schools are considered its pretty good.  This is especially true when you look at the tuition which is only about $10,000 for in-state.  That’s pretty cheap for a good school!  Not from the area? Or think you have too much stuff to move to school by yourself?  No problem, there are tons of Cincinnati movers who would love to help you plan and help in your moving process.

Cincinnati’s residential movers are some of the best around and will move your belongings very carefully.   University of Cincinnati is a medium sized school with about 22,500 students enrolled.  Unlike many other schools, this school does not use semesters or even trimesters; instead they use quarters which allows the students to focus more in-depth on fewer classes at a time.   Class sizes are of good size too, about half range from 20-49 students and of the other half the majority is of classes with fewer than 20 students.

Ohio Vacancies Up 50% in Past Decade

From 2000 to 2010 the housing vacancy rate jumped 50% for the Buckeye state.  The Government Accountability Office released a report showing that the increase in Ohio housing vacancy is the 10th largest increase of the 50 Nifty United States.  The average increase of housing vacancies is 33% across the nation.  Apparently it’s a buyer’s market with 9.1% of Ohio houses being vacant.  Let the Dayton movers help you move into a recently vacant home.

The same report by the GAO states that Ohio has the highest increase in the number of vacant residential properties.  Ohio had the 18th biggest increase in unemployment and 8th largest increase of loans in foreclosure.

Increase in vacancies cost the taxpayers money.  It places a strain on police and fire departments and may use taxpayer money for housing maintenance or demolition.  The Cincinnati movers wish that every Ohioan has a able to have a roof over their head and if they need moving assistance we are more than happy to help.
