Store Wars: The Battle for Dayton's Customers
Store wars, that’s right not star wars but store wars. Here in Dayton there are all of the big chains, Kroger, Meijer, Wal-Mart, Target, and Menard's. Dayton has a population of approximately 142,000 people. With this size population you wouldn’t expect there to be such fierce competition between these brands. Each one is trying to one-up the others to try to gain customers. Many are remodeling to keep a nice new look and convert to a one stop shop for all their customers needs. Retail chains are no different than a Dayton storage company or moving companies. They all try to one-up their competition by lower prices, better services, or better customer service. It is the nature of business which in the end favors the customers the most. The customers in the end get better prices, better products, or better service. Every business out there from Dayton residential movers to Kroger’s, they all are constantly improving on their products/services to draw customers to them.
